Committed to demonstrating taste and plant-based are not mutually exclusive, Earth Balance leads the way for plant-based alternatives to favorite foods. Their growing line of delicious buttery spreads, shortenings, nut butters, soymilk, coconut spread and alternative mayo are vegan, made without artificial ingredients and hydrogenated oils, and are free of gluten, lactose and eggs.
We were lucky in that the Earth Balance brand is well recognized with spirited, loyal enthusiasts. The Challenge was to extend the brand to new customers, to present the family of Earth Balance products in a friendly, accessible way.
We decided to use a simple, hand-drawn illustration style and informal type font to present a relaxed, joyful personality to the website. Simple animations featuring our mindful brand champion are peppered throughout to surprise and tell the story. Completely focused on the needs of the consumer, the site offers product and nutrition information, kitchen tips, recipes, information about a plant-based lifestyle, the company's Non-GMO commitment and other initiatives, a newsletter signup, store finder, and a connection to the “made just right” community portal. We are also at work on print, SEO and online ad campaigns aimed at “spreading” the word.
