Making the Electric Grid Smarter

This is a big week for our numerous "green" clients, highlighted by the participation of both NREL and Tendril in a White House summit on the smart grid. The Obama administration previewed a slew of programs and initiatives that will help make the power grid smarter, and unveiled the national Smart Grid website. With the launch of smartgrid.gov, a Vermilion-designed website that provides an overview of how the smart grid will allow for two-way communication between the utility and its customers, NREL is taking the lead in showcasing the importance of this new technology, and sharing the lessons learned from the smart grid stimulus investments. The animations in "What is the Smart Grid" guide the viewer on a tour through the Smart Home all the way to Plug-In Electric Vehicles.
